He will have one year to play, but could apply for a medical hardship waiver for the missed 2021 season. Hart entered the transfer portal following the Illini's close of spring camp this year. In 2022, he played in 12 games and accounted for 22 tackles including three tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. He was injured in the game and missed the remainder of the season. In 2021, as a sophomore, he transferred to Illinois. In 2020, he again played in 10 games for the Wolfpack where he had 18 tackles and two sacks. In 2019, he played in 10 games for the Wolfpack where he accounted for 35 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. He played in four games as a true freshman, and was able to preserve his redshirt season. Lauderdale, Florida signed out of high school to play for North Carolina State. "I want to play in a scheme I can excel in," he told BeaverBlitz. The 6-foot-1, 230 pound athlete will play inside linebacker for the Beavers.

Sunday morning, Calvin Hart announced his commitment to transfer from Illinois to Oregon State. Oregon State is in the middle of recruiting the 2024 class, but that doesn't mean they aren't looking for transfer portal players to help the team immediately.
